Cluster Tumble
This is the latest of a series of slots featuring ‘Tumble’ in its name and made by Relax Gaming. The opening scene tells us the famous adventurer from previous ‘Tumble’ games has gone missing in the Himalayas while exploring and it’s been left to his badass wife- a Lara Croft-lookalike with some equally badass tattoos- to go and rescue him.

How these Cascades differ
Played out on an 8x8 grid, the fact this slot has Cluster in its name is a clue that wins are secured by identical symbols appearing in clusters of (at least) 4, rather than in adjacent lines from left to right, which is the norm. So, any four identical symbols in contact with one another and you’re in…for a win. Stakes start at a lowly €0.10 per spin and go up to a kamikaze-like €50.00 per spin. Ready for some great news? There are no cliched playing card symbols in sight. Instead, the lower-value symbols are three gemstones, with the higher-value ones being the Blue Aztec Chief, the Green Scarab Beetle, and the Pink Dragon.
The Wild symbol…you guessed it…substitutes for any other symbol.
The slot features the cascading reels feature, which isn’t that unusual. What is a bit more unusual is that with each cascade, not only are the symbols that form a win replaced by others, but the adjacent positions become unblocked like a faulty drain as well. These unblocked positions are then filled by new symbols, as well. As ever, new wins bring new cascades till there are no more and your win is calculated. But special symbols out there can really help your cause when they appear after a cascade…
Special symbols, special outcomes
- Lightning Win - The block will transform from a Lightning Bolt into a regular pay symbol. For example, a Pink Dragon. When the symbols are then all replaced after a cascade, any Pink Dragon symbols anywhere on the grid can form clusters, even if they’re not in adjacent positions.
- Fire Transform - Have a burning desire to know what this does? Ok, so the Fire symbol transforms into a regular pay symbol; let’s say the Green Scarab Beetle on this occasion. When the cascade comes, 1-2 other regular symbols – say the blue and green gemstones- will transform into Green Scarab Beetles as well. Meaning there could be plenty of Beetles on that grid.
- Free Spins - There are three ways to activate these. You can fill the whole grid with symbols thanks to multiple cascades. You can get three Scatter symbols. Or you can ‘buy the feature’. It’s not cheap, far from it, but it could be worth it. Five Free Spins are coming your way and each extra Scatter symbol appearing gives you an extra free spin. Unblocking the whole grid brings a Win Multiplier into play which is applied to your win at the end of the round.
Verdict
There are some familiar themes and features here: a heroine who looks like Lara Croft, a rescue mission storyline, cascading reels and free spins, to name but a few. But Relax Gaming have done a fine job of tying them all up together to give you an all-action slot filled with both danger and big rewards for those who dare.
